![]() ![]() ![]() In fact, why not take nature itself as our model? A tree produces thousands of blossoms in order to create another tree, yet we do not consider its abundance wasteful but safe, beautiful, and highly effective hence, "waste equals food" is the first principle the book sets forth. ![]() Why not challenge the notion that human industry must inevitably damage the natural world? But as this provocative, visionary book argues, this approach perpetuates a one-way, "cradle to grave" manufacturing model that dates to the Industrial Revolution and casts off as much as 90 percent of the materials it uses as waste, much of it toxic. "Reduce, reuse, recycle" urge environmentalists in other words, do more with less in order to minimize damage. Beside the mystery there are also enough other sub plots going on, like relationships between characters, Amanda her e-mails with her film idol Darius Plover, Amanda her parents etc. The mystery is one of my favourite aspects of this series, there are multiple things going on and it’s unclear whether they are related or not and what’s going on and then as the story progresses we find out more and things start falling on it’s place. I did predict what the missing item was already before the characters figured it out though, but I didn’t mind that as I only figured it out shortly before they did. The mystery aspect is very well done and I like how you can really follow the thinking steps of the characters and see how they come to certain conclusions. Not only introduces it a new mystery for Amanda and her friend to focus on, it also continues a few plot lines from the first book, introduces the reader to a new character and has more of the same awesomness of the first book. Amanda Lester and the Orange Crystal Crisis is a great sequel to the first book. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The red side facing out signified, "Nobody should try to interact with me," while the yellow side meant, "Only people I already know should interact with me, not strangers." This is the appeal of the book, which owes its success to a stark delineation of good and evil, Atticus and the woefully mistreated Tom Robinson on the one side and the Ewells on the other, with the townspeople of Maycomb - a stand-in for Lee’s hometown of Monroeville, Ala. The Atticus of “To Kill a Mockingbird” was an icon, an archetype, a figure out of myth.
